Pota Coston is a consultant for AVPRIDE, a Youth Leadership Development Organization and acts as Youth Workforce Development Program Director. Prior to this position, Pota had 29 years of service in federal law enforcement. She held several positions of increasing managerial responsibility in the Internal Revenue Service, Criminal Investigation (CI) business division, having worked in the Southeast, Midwest, and Washington, DC areas.

During 2000-2004, Pota served as the Deputy and Director of the Office of Strategy. Pota was selected into the Senior Executive Services (SES) and provided executive oversight for National Office initiatives related to the development of CI’s strategic plan, finance and budget, Information Technology (IT) to include the development and implementation of Business System Programs, Offices of Research, Human Resources (policy, recruitment and hiring) and training of all IRS Special Agents at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick, GA.

From 2005-2008, Pota provided executive oversight to field operations/criminal investigations activities and programs for 12 states in the Southeast area, the US territories of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. She has worked extensively with the Department of Treasury, the Department of Justice, and other law enforcement agencies.

Pota retired in 2008. In order to remain abreast of professional advancements and issues, Pota maintains membership in a variety of professional affiliations, which include Women in Federal Law Enforcement and National Association of Retired Special Agents. She is also a new member of the American Business Women’s Association, McIntosh Chapter. Always an active member of her community, Pota participates in activities and organizations that make a difference.

She is a graduate of Marshall University, Huntington, WV where she earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice and is an active member of the alumni association. Pota is a native of Elkins, WV and currently resides in Tyrone, GA. Pota is married to Bernard Coston and has a son, Bernie, a 2008 graduate of Elon University who resides in Tyrone, GA.
